Terms of service.

The agreement between your parish and Paroecia. Plain language; no boilerplate that doesn't apply to us.

What this agreement covers

These terms apply to anyone who uses the Paroecia website at paroecia.com, the Paroecia application, or any of its public APIs. By creating an account, your parish accepts these terms on behalf of itself and the volunteers it invites. If your parish would prefer a custom agreement, get in touch through our contact form and we'll work it out.

Acceptable use

Use Paroecia for the work of running a Catholic parish. Don't use it to harass volunteers, spam parishioners, store unrelated business records, attempt to access another parish's data, or violate the laws of the United States or your country. We will close accounts that abuse the product, and we reserve the right to remove content that does not belong on a parish-management platform.

Your account

Your parish is responsible for the volunteers, coordinators, and administrators it invites. Keep credentials private; if you suspect an account has been compromised, reach us through our contact form. We'll help you secure it the same day.

Intellectual property

Paroecia, the Paroecia name, logo, and the source code that runs the application are owned by Paroecia. The data your parish enters — volunteer records, schedules, preferences, all of it — belongs to your parish. You can export your parish's data at any time.

Payment terms

Pricing is published at /pricing. Your parish begins paying after publishing its first schedule and the next month begins. We bill monthly or annually. If we change list pricing, every parish already subscribed gets at least 30 days' written notice before the new price takes effect, so there's time to weigh it or to cancel. Charter parishes keep their founder rate on Ministry Scheduling for as long as they stay subscribed.

Cancelling your account

Your parish can cancel at any time from inside the app or by reaching us through our contact form. We refund the unused portion of any prepaid annual plan. Your data remains accessible for 60 days after cancellation; after that it is permanently deleted, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Warranty and liability

We work hard to keep Paroecia running, but the service is provided “as is.” We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the fees your parish paid Paroecia in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in this clause limits liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects your parish, we update the “Last updated” date and write to anyone with an active account at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts of Delaware. Parishes outside the United States — if you'd prefer a different governing law, write to us; we are open to it.

Questions about these terms
